Crack extending down front tooth

    Teenage son messing in school managed to crack his tooth which extends down through one of his front teeth but luckily no part has broken off/missing. No sensitivity to hot or cold. Went to school dentist who did an X-ray and said all is fine & there’s nothing that can be done until or if it ever breaks and then go about getting something done with it.


    Is there any kind of sealant or treatment that is out there that could prevent it getting any worse and breaking in the future.

    superficial enamel fractures are very common and nothing to worry about. If you look closely enough, you see them all over the place. Only treat if it becomes symptomatic but chances are it never will.

    Prefect, thanks a million for the speedy reply. Was just a bit worried when its a front tooth, thought there might be some sort of a sealant something like the fissure sealant which I know are for back teeth that would just cover the crack. You can feel the crack on his tooth.
