    hi guys

Looking to get out of Ireland next week with the OH and get some sun and just chill for a week. Want to surprise her so looking to go to Tenerife. Any recommendations for a nice hotel beside the beach that’s all inclusive. No kids.
Any recommendations for company’s to book with.
    Thanks in advance.

We did a week in north Tenerife in the very chilled Puerto De La Cruz. There seemed to be a good selection of adult only hotels as the south coast hotels cater mostly for families.

Loved Puerto de la Cruz, much more laid back than the traditional resorts.

However, the weather in that part of the island isn't as guaranteed sunshine as the rest.

Better to get an hotel with all the protests by locals in Tenerife over tourists taking over decent accom - airbnb etc.One was due yesterday but didn't look it up

Very true. We like a bit of hiking so we preferred the north of Island as you'd get a bit cooler conditions. However I have been there in January before and had no problems going for a dip in the ocean.

We stayed once in the south and I could never face it again, plus everything seems much more expensive probably because it is just tourism whereas up north is where most locals live.

Are the protests having much impact on tourism?

    Agreed.

The north of the island is better for hiking, was only once down South for a day on way to airport. Wasn't impressed.

There is a much better vibe around Puerto de la Cruz and much better chance of meeting local residents.
