Can upload files on MacBook pro

hi guys have a MBP 2020 and all was working fine till early today. Anytime I try to upload a file as an attachment the coloured circle runs for about a minute and then nothing happens and if I click on the upload button again nothing happens. These aren’t big files. Any idea what’s wrong? TIA
