Hi all, we are having problems with our biocycle and it seems to be that the percolation area is waterlogged so no more can go out there. Does anyone know how to solve this? Can we extend or build a new percolation area? Would anyone know a rough cost for doing this? We need a quick fix solution to start. Thanks.

You probably need to stop rainfall from percolating into the percolation area, e.g. by putting in drainage uphill of it (if possible). If you can divert that non-effluent water to elsewhere on site you'll relieve the pressure on your percolation area.

Thanks for that. He's going to concentrate on the percolation area and get some relief there and sort the other drainage then to stop it building up again. From talking to people the rain is causing fierce trouble at the moment so hopefully some dry weather is on the way!

Where is the rain water from your roof draining to? can it be diverted elsewhere?

When we had to get our septic tank updraded 10 years ago we put in pipe work to take the rain water from the gutters away from the garden and down to a open drain in the field next door.
