Working Out Tax on Rental Income

Hi All, Just trying to work out tax that would be due on rental income. I've seen this example - Example 2 on the Revenue website and wondered if I adjust the figures to a married couple with two incomes and adjust the tax credits for same would I be on the right track?

Gross rental income
less allowable expenses
= net rental profits
The simply add the net rental proffits onto your other incomes, and tax the lot.
