This is not specific to EV hence putting in general motor forum and to be clear, I am an EV fan and next car will be an EV again.

Purchased a "high end European branded EV" in Jan 2022 (not going into brand as will be moving it on at some stage). 1 year left off a 3 year warranty. I love the car itself…comfort, pick up, space and it being EV low cost to run…the depreciation is eye watering but was expecting that anyway and had planned on hanging onto it for a long time so not worried. However, it has been one thing after the other, some minor and some not and for the most part happened when came out of warranty…

    1. Air conditioning need toping up when 3 years old…strange need topping up that early. Not a biggie but was a spend.
    2. Window seal leaking. Windscreen broken during replacement (it happens), off the road for weeks waiting new one.
    3. Would not charge on home/slow charger (7kw). Parts covered on goodwill but labor was not, significant cost. Pain in ass and cost to use fast chargers for weeks waiting part.
    4. Again, would not charge on home/slow charger. Different part failure. 40% of parts covered, none on labor
    5. Windscreen wiper hitting off a frame. Needs new motor/replacement. Will not be covered. Going to be costly
    6. Battery cells need replacing. Covered under battery warranty but charging capacity is limited to 75% ⇒ in trouble for any long distance travel. Will be months before they get to it. No replacement car.

Based on experiences, what would be recomendations here. For example SIMI complaint? Talk to a solicitor? Or is it just tough sh1t?

send registered letter to md of dealer you bought it from saying unhappy with car and have lost faith in car / dealer - if no good outcome - contact manufacturer - bit too early for solicitor .

think dealer should be let try and keep you happy before getting simi involved
