Replacing Tap - Possible Earth Wire on existing flex fitting?

    Hi

I am replacing a kitchen sink and tap and noticed possible earthing wire attached to the flex pipe for the cold water supply. I was going to just detach it from the existing pipe and reattach afterwards. Do I need to turn off the electricity etc?

Not sure if anyone here has had this before

    any advice appreciated

essentially removing the clamp around the flex pipe and let it hang and reattach after replacing sink and tap
Do I need to turn off any electrics ?

No, its just a ground connection. No problem take it off and reattach to the new pipe.

The only reason it is there is so that a fuse will blow if a live wire was to come in contact with the pipe. (Instead of electrocuting someone who touched the tap).
