I have been trying to book some open competitions on the dates below. I had a look on the BRS open competitions and also on the open fixtures on Golf Ireland. Both sites have yielded very few options. Does anyone have any suggestions on where I can find some more open competitions for the dates below.

    Saturday 18th May

    Saturday 22nd June

    Saturday 06th July

    Saturday 03rd August

    Saturday 24th August

    Sunday 25th August

You are a bit early. Most clubs wont have put up yet

There are not that many opens at the weekends but scratch cups are common. There is a scratch cups twitter page with lists

Do scratch cups generally have any handicap restrictions? Or can anyone play, and prizes just end up going to the better players with lower handicaps?

Usually restricted to a minimum and maximum. Some of the higher handicap (minor) ones will allow higher handicaps in but they have to play off the maximum. Usually only see it at smaller courses that might struggle to fill the slots.

Blessington Lakes have open singles on every Saturday, all welcome.

We are based in the Midlands so 1hr 30mins takes us to alot of places.

We have a wide range of handicaps so we would require a junior and intermidate scratch cup to run at the same time.

We have picked 2 of them from the list of scratch cups already.

    18th May Charleville

    22nd June Ballinasloe

I have never played these courses. Have any of you guys played them?

Charleville is a nice tree-lined course and a good test. They used to have 27 holes but sold land and rerouted the remaining 18 into the course they have now. Holes 4 - 9 would have been on the extra 9. Some strong par fours on the course.
