Patchy grass, seeking advice for a fuller lawn?

    Hi all,

Full discloser, complete beginner here when it comes to gardening but would be grateful for some advice.

We moved into a new build Jan 2023, grounds were dug by the guys on site, levelled and seeds put down around the following May. With regular watering the grass quickly came up.
It was cut regularly enough after giving it a good chance to grow. However, since then it has been very patchy even through the brighter months. Admittedly, it was left go this past winter in terms of weeding, etc.

Any recommendations on how to achieve a fuller looking lawn as we'd like to be able to enjoy it this spring/summer. Is a feed/ growth agent of some type required, I'd really hope that the ground will not have to be dug/ reseeded again.

See below pictures, weeds were just picked out and grass cut.

    Thanks in advance.

Your lawn looks very similar to mine. To be honest with you, it looks like it has poor drainage. I have had this issue since 2021, and it hasn't improved.
