Irish inspired name for dog

I'm hoping to get a dog this year and would love to use a nice Irish word for their name. Not "human" names like Finn or Molly, etc. More along the lines of how Michael D's dogs are Misneach and Bród. Preferably a nice sounding word with a nice meaning that would also sound alright being shouted in a park! Any suggestions would be great :)

Rua is a good name for a Red Setter.

Rua is really nice, especially since the breed I'm thinking of getting often comes in a red colour!

I had a couple of terriers over the years that were named Madrá. I thought them to respond to commands as gaeilge as well. You'd be amazed how many people couldn't get their heads around a dog "understanding" Irish.

Every other red setter is called Rua... My friend had one called Dearg which imo is much nicer!

Just bear in mind OP that the dogs name will probably be <name>-it-means-<english translation> to anyone you don’t know. My neighbour gave his dog an ‘Irish’ name (that he made up) and he’s always telling people what he thinks it means lol 🤭 … Being a human with a weird name it’s irritating as I have to repeat/correct it often.

You can. You could call it badger or broc. Particularly if it's a grey dog.
