NCT Red Light Fail

There's a red airbag warning light on my dash.

I know this is an automatic fail but I don't have time to get a sensor to fix it.

My question is, if I turn up at the NCT centre will they just say I'll have to come back for a new full test and forfeit the 55euro? or will it be a retest? Thanks.

They’ll do the test and you’ll have to come back for a free visual retest

Get a cheap bluetooth OBD II adaptor and then an app for your phone to turn off the fault but mind you some are hard set and will not go until you fix the problem. Google your car as some times it can be a common problem with your car. As I tried to turn off a airbag light on my parents car but couldn't as the warning comes straight back on but I googled the car and it was a common problem with their car and it was a simple fit of joining wires under the seat mind you I had to use the adaptor and app to turn off the light even after I fixed the problem.

It's been with a garage for the past 2 days so I don't think that'd work in this case.

Just to add to this. I meant it didn't turn off by itself after I fixed the issue. I still had to turn off the light with adapter and app and it has stayed off since.
