Prize Bonds - transfer from joint to single account

    Where you are transferring bonds from a joint account (two names) to a single account holder (one name), married couple, is it normal, after sending in signed declarations, that the second account holder will receive a call from Prize Bonds and be effectively questioned as to why they are signing the bonds into a single name?

    I thought it would be absolutely none of their business once they have the signed declaration (and would already have proper ID on file) ??

    Faked signatures are very easy to do and there's no direct benefit from merging the owners...

    Why wouldn’t they set out this in their t and c’s? That one might be called?

    They had all required so no need for phone calls


    They were told nothing anyway

    If it was a fake signature and they called to check details you could also have a fake person on the line pretending to be person 2
