    Same thing happened me

If you are stuck you should be able to start the car by putting the key in and turning it with a pliers. make sure though that the fob is in the car as you will need it to cancel the immobiliser.

Regaring the replacement key - you may need a specialist service to program a new fob/key. Google replacement keys

You’ll need to get an emergency locksmith out to your car to cut you a new key. That blank key you linked won’t do anything

My son had an issue recently where the blade snapped in the ignition!!

He was able to get the broken bit out and a combination of holding the fob against the steering column and a vice-grips holding the broken stub got the car started at least.

He's in Galway and was directed to a lock-smith in Oranmore somewhere that cut a new key for him for €50.

    He has a 2012 Insignia.

Given that you don't have the ability to start the car , you'll have to do a call out - So probably 80-100 for the call out plus the 50 for the actual key and cutting.

I soldiered on for a few weeks with the pliers - just as well I was never stopped by a guard , always looked as if I was robbing the car.

I was getting rid of the car so let the garage deal with it. check your insurance policy , some have a replacement key cover
