Navigating Landlord Visits: Seeking Clarity and Boundaries

    Hey everyone,

I'm reaching out to gather some insights on how frequently landlords can legitimately request to inspect the apartment we've been residing in. For the past 12 years, we've been diligent tenants - never missing a rent or bill payment, maintaining a quiet and tidy living space, and fostering positive relationships with our neighbours. Despite our commitment to being responsible tenants, our landlord's approach to inspections seems a bit irregular.

Lately, these checkups are often veiled under seemingly minor pretexts, such as the need for an electrician to assess something or a routine check on the fire alarms, which, to our observation, don't actually happen. These supposed maintenance visits turn into general inspections of our apartment, disrupting our schedules. We've even had instances where we've taken time off work to accommodate these checks, only to have them rescheduled last minute.

This situation has left us feeling a bit unsettled and seeking advice. Is there a standard or guideline that outlines how often a landlord can perform these checks? We're keen on understanding our rights and finding a way to address this matter with our landlord amicably.

Appreciate any guidance or personal experiences you can share!
