3 crazy adults are arriving at the Heuston Train station and have 4 hours before we must be at the airport at 4:00PM on Thursday August 1, 2024.

What are the "Must See" stops using train or taxi or just walking?

Guinness? Those "Doors!," Best museum? Fun lunch spot? .... What's your favorite tourist or non-tourist activities?

    Thanks!

Do you have much luggage? If not, you could walk to the following

National Museum of Ireland-Decorative Arts & History - just across the river from Heuston Station

    then

Irish Stew and a pint in The Brazen Head

    then

    Dublinia and/or Christ Church Cathedral

    then

Chester Beatty Library (museum really) in Dublin Castle

Finished off by a stroll through Temple Bar (tourist trap).

That would be quite the feat to fit into 4 hours, including travel to the airport!!

A stroll through the Phoenix Park or the War Memorial Gardens, and a pint or two in Ryan's of Parkgate St would be my choice, and you're right beside the airport bus when you're done.

Or luas into town (an experience in itself a lot of the time 😱) and a pint in The Long Hall or The Palace.

Or stroll over to do the tour of Kilmainham Jail which is fascinating (you'll recognise it from lots of films), and a pint in the Royal Oak after. You'd definitely need to book the tour well in advance.

Regardless of any time constraints, Temple Bar should be avoided!!!

You probably have the right amount of time to do the Viking Splash tour .. it always looks like fantastic fun 🤩. And a couple of pints 🍺 too.

If i read correct- With only 4 hours to do stuff and get to airport… i would skip sitting down for food (lots nice take away food on the way) or going into meuseums as just one would use up all that time.

Maybe walk from train station along the liffey towards city centre and turn after guinness to pass ChristChurch Cathedral - past trinity college and up to grafton street to St Stephens green- maybe Georges arcade market area. You will pass many famous Dublin landmarks like four courts, trinity college etc.

time journey to Airport well so as not to miss boarding - airport queues are short lately but you never know - taxi to airport from last place will be quickest at maybe 45 minutes (max 1 hr)

What's your arrival time In Heuston and your flight departure time?

Also, are you flying to the US? Or where else?

I would skip Guinness and instead do a tour of Teelings or Roe & Co.

At Teelings you can get an excellent tour of a Dublin whiskey Distillery together with a brief history of the area followed by a tasting of about 4 whiskeys.

There's also a bar at the end of the tour where you can order mixed drinks, whiskey cocktails etc. and further socialise.

Otherwise, head to the Brazen Head for any drink of your fancy and some hearty food.

Take a taxi back to the airport via the port tunnel.

    Very tight time frame really.

Would suggest walking to the Royal Hospital to take a look at the Irish Museum of Modern Art, have something to eat there in the court yard & then walk back to Heusten station to get the airport bus.

Hope you enjoy whatever you decide.

If the weather is nice, just wander around taking photos and getting lost. Return to Heuston or somewhere where the airport buses pick you up.

Basin St. is near Heuston… don't wander in there with a camera.

Guinness storehouse and Trinity College both in the same direction on the way into the city centre, apart from that your time is limited.

If I had just that long, Guinness tour , then bus down to Temple bar stroll down there stop by for food and pub grub (Porterhouse would be my choice)

Stroll down to college green but just as a way to grab a bus or taxi from there to the airport. It's a nice place to see but don't need to sit around. Watch the Google map at this point though because traffic coming up to Thursday afternoon towards the airport will be fierce. You're likely OK if you're packing for it around 3pm but still keep an eye out for delays.
