I was given a house and was informed to pay inheritance tax. I was paying off a small bit month by month as I’m out of work at the moment on medical grounds. The revenue have come back and are demanding the inheritance tax to be paid in 5 years. This has increased the amount dramatically. They said it must be paid at the end of every month and if not paid on time, they said they will want the full tax in one payment if I can’t pay the amount.

I feel like it’s a scare tactic that if a miss a payment or don’t pay the full amount. I will make up the different once I’m back at work. Has anyone had this issue before?
