Using Park&Ride as Park&Fly?

    Hello,

So, when going away for a few weeks from Dublin Airport, the cost of parking even at the cheapest Blue car park can be quite high.

Meanwhile at the Red Cow Park&Ride, using the APCOA app, a month appears to cost 80 Euro and there is even a bus to/from the airport. Or if one relies on taxis, Cheeverstown Park&Ride is just 40 Euro for a month.

Is it a good idea to use this option to park and fly? Or is the month somehow not supposed to be "all of the time" and it gets checked or something?

Seems an utterly pointless solution. Sure you could just park on-street in a nice area with free parking where the car would probably be safer, in any number of estates along the various bus routes to the airport.

We parked one time at the Red Cow one weekend when all the Dublin Airport parking was sold out. Our return flight got into Dublin airport quite late. We just missed a Dublin coach that went to the Red Cow and the follow up one was late. You could not get near a taxi either the place was so busy. It took nearly 3 hours to get to the Red Cow and then we had to drive home. We only parked at the Red Cow because we were stuck but we would definitely not see it as a better alternative to airport parking after that experience.

Sorry to jump on here but anyone know if the Red Cow sells out? Driving up from Cork tomorrow and planning on parking in the red cow but worried there wouldn't be space when I arrive around 9am
