    This isn't intended to bash either Science or Journalism.

    Good Science and good Journalism are worth their weight in gold.

    However, given the proliferation in fake or untrustworthy Journalism there has also been a noticable rise in untrustworthy scientific research by eminent academics it would seem.

    This is just one example of this.

    Has anyone come across stories like this and how widespread is it?
