I'm starting a paranormal YouTube channel and hopefully a podcast too and I would be really grateful if you could please share any paranormal experiences you may have had.

This has been a lifelong interest of mine and I've been thinking about doing this for a while so now I'm just going to do it instead of thinking about it.

I've had some replies from other sources and once I have enough I will be reading them out.

If you could share anything with me and are ok with me reading your story out on the channel could you please email your experience to: doyoubelieve@gmail.com .

You can leave your name and location or be completely anonymous.

Thank you so much if you can help.

    Jenny

Im used to the scepticsm in this forum so I'll tell you one occurrence. Myself and a friend of mine were camping up a mountain, which was also covered in forest. Locals had been talking about seeing lights in the trees etc - which is basically what we saw. Went on for a good ten minutes.

Where we were sitting, you could see the side mountain and it was a steep, steep slope. You could walk up it holding onto the fir trees, but it was steep. This meant that you were, at most, looking through maybe 5 - 10 trees before you;d see the hillside/mountainside itself, so what we saw couldnt have come from the sky, and I think actually come from the rock as I cant see any other source for it.

Basically though there were lights - big lights. looks like a car first of all, then morphed together into one big white light, then into kinda traffic lights, or three small lights above the other.

We tried to film and photograph but what looked like light to us, came out pitch black on both video and photograph. Never figured out what it was. two of us saw the same thing all the same

If you were only 10-15 trees deep between where you were and where the lights were coming from in the hillside and it was going on for 10 minutes… would you have not gone over to take a look?

gone where though? this was in front of us - we were maybe 15 feet from the the side of the mountain. Also, these are big fecken lights. I had no idea what was going on. I couldn't figure out how a car was there (as thats what they looked like to me at the start), and then when they started changing so i decided to film it, which didnt work. It was terribly confusing tbh - but to be fair, no - the idea of actually going up to the source of the lights wasnt something that occurred to me at the time.

besides, from where we were, the lights looked like they were int he higher parts of the trees - which would have meant the ground higher up the side of the mountain. I doubt we could have got there in any kind of decent timescale in the dark considering how steep it was

I suspect the op was a troll account, lot of them popping up on boards, posting contentious thread titles to get a row started, and then vanishing.

Imho, channel would be a waste of time. Major tv channels around the world have tried this, and never once did they ever get any footage of anything. Simply because it doesn't exist.

There used to be that one in the UK, that girl Fielding was a host. It was lots of camera shots of dark houses, corridors, forests etc, complete with her looking petrified, yet zero footage.

    Lasted years and years too.

i dont think TV is the place to look for genuine paranormal experiences tbh. Plenty of people can attest to experiencing the paranormal. Science hasnt even decided where the mind resides yet so i think we'd have a long way to go to prove anything scientific but to blankly claim 'simply because it doesnt exist' with your only research being tv shows …. well.

Makes no odds to me mind you what anyone thinks. its all just multiples of realities I'd make a guess at. maybe even on different frequencies …. we'll just have to wait and see what other things scientists are currently suggesting .

But to state none of its real is just a bit silly. Plenty of people would argue against that (if any of us could be arsed that is)

To me, anything considered 'genuinely paranormal' is just a mystery that hasn't been solved conventionally as of yet. There was some regular explanation for the lights in your trees. We don't know what it is but that doesn't mean we have to jump to the conclusion that it was not of this world.

It's quite the leap when you think about it.

Without wanting to get too philosophical, it's the same as the concept of a 'god'. It's the Polyfilla of the universe and the human condition. Don't know what something is? Stick god in to cover up the hole. or maybe some faries or ghosts. 'God of the gaps' as the philosophical concept goes.

As time goes on and we learn more and more about life, the universe and everything, those gaps get smaller and smaller and less paranormal/god Polyfilla is needed as we can explain what's actually happening.

Not saying they don't make for good anecdotes, they sure do and I love hearing them. But to take them seriously is something else altogether.

until you have one yourself. ghosts, fairies, god(s) etc - they could well be the same thing, who knows.

A better question would be - why would you go over an get a closer look?

It could have been something dangerous, e.g. lightening etc.

plus - as I had already outlined - there was nothing to investigate as it was the side of the mountain
