Case 4230 PTO Problem

    Hi My Case 4230 has developed a problem were the pto has became more difficulted too stop and now continues spinning all the time driving implements with force now even when switched off, is this the clutch pack warped or could it be something else?

    First port of call, Is the linkage that engages and disengage the pto still attached?

    +1 on that. That Case series tractors suffer from worn and broken linkages especially in the gears.

    It sounds like the pto is not being disengaged fully which can be caused by a worn linaged not giving enough travel. Cheap fix if thats all thats wrong.

    ok would this wear be in the linkage outside the backend?
