shower thermostatic cartridge

    hi,

    i have a thermostatic shower, lately i can only get very hot water, can not lower temperature..

    I think it's a problem with the thermostatic cartridge, blocked or something, I opened up the shower controls / faceplate to access this but I can not remove the thermostatic cartridge on the bottom, I used an adjustable spanner to turn the nut open but it won't budge..

    any ideas?

    I had removed that silver pin on the end of the valve also.
