    All

Hope im in right room.... For last few months Ive noticed the carpet on the driver and rear driver side of car was soaking wet.

At first I thought perhaps a leek coming in from roof/window/doors etc. But this proved not to be the case.

Then I noticed on floor driver side there is a samll plactic lid on floor. When I open this you can see flood of water.

(i assume this lid is to allow some acces to cables)

So basically there seems to be water building up inside the frame of the car and prob soaking up through the floor and wetting the carpet.

So I assume its this water in frame of car that is causing the wet floor.

Does anyone have any idea as to why this is happening and how i can sort.

I see no water coming in from engine or anywhere else.

    This has me mistified.

    Thanking all in advance

Have you checked inside your boot as well. There could be a leak coming from a rear light seal or the boot door seal and this can travel through the car. Either that, or you have a door seal on the driver's side or perhaps even the Windscreen could be leaking and you would not necessarily see it.

Check the boot first anyway and work from there.

Get someone to check the obvious stuff.

One area to check would be the scuttle panel under the windscreen. Area coloured below. Water can typically enter here but is supposed to drain under car. Any dead leaves or anything like that can cause the water not to drain and then enter the car around any of the openings into the car.

Once you get the leak sorted, kitty litter is great for drying out damp carpets. Spread it, leave it overnight and hoover the next day.
