Loving them Beat Club clips on Now 60s

11082 H is a very weak transponder with me 6 dB, which is just about enough for a stable picture. The one Now 70's moved from on 08 March is 9 dB. It may be that your dish is not getting enough signal on 11082.

    08 March 2024 14:12 CET Now 70's ( 11582 H ) left Astra 2G @ 28.2° E

The only channel left on 11582 is Zee TV HD encrypted. But you should be able to see if you have that signal. There should be a menu on your remote to examine what signal readings you are getting.

We don't know what box or size dish or method they are using but on my zgemmah7s with a 68cm dish and an octo lnb I get 13db. I use signal finder when its a one off channel. CIRCULAR LEFT = H

Here is a pic from signal finder

    No joy, I have a Zgemma h2

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,769 ✭✭✭swoofer

is it a H2s by any chance? I forgot to add I left circular in by mistake hope you tried H but I think you did.

    H2H, yes tried H

Can you get near dish and give it a tweak while someone watches but you have to pause to allow signal to hit reciever, do it for left and right and tip up the lnb arm. I cant fathom why you are getting nothing. I know box is very old

Had no problem getting now 70 until signal change, not sure if it is dish , have now 60 and 80.

Now 80s is on 11082 H so if you are gettng that you should also have Now 70's. Maybe you mean That's 80s which is on 11344 V (as well as That's 60s and That's 90s)? It is stronger than 11082 H with me.

If you are going to do any adjusments to the dish, check what signal readings you are getting on all the frequencies. Ignore those for Feeds and West Africa. You may find that you are missing other ones as well as 11082 H if your dish is not well aligned. If you do any adjustments, you will be able to see the difference in signal readings Before and After.

    Definitely Now 80s I'm getting, don't know why I can't pick up Now 70s.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,769 ✭✭✭swoofer

I have a spare H2S doing nothing and I recognised that tuner so dug it out and it worked and got a high DB reading. I did a full ABM scan as well using SKY UK London. Which means its more than likely the dish slightly out or the lnb on the way out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,283 ✭✭✭✭dxhound2005

That's not possible if the screen you showed in post #7 is right. You have zero signal on 11082 H. If you are getting Now 80s you should also get another 23 channels including Now 70s if you scan that frequency on its own. Can you show a screen with Now 80s, including the frequency?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,769 ✭✭✭swoofer

scoop I'm baffled but can you try by switching to the default metrix skin, assuming its openatv image,

it will give a better read out of parameters and might just work.

dx how do I check frequencies? just curious

When I'm.home will take picture of Now 80, but as said shouldn't get it of I can't get Now 70s

When I get home will take picture of Now 80s, but has been said I shouldn't be getting that either.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,491 ✭✭✭SCOOP 64

your absolutely right, I could have sworn it was now 80s, so it's That's 70 that has gone. Is now 80 subscription?

That's 70s no longer exists. It was rebranded as That's Christmas for the festive season and afterwards became That's TV 2.

scoop you are not paying attention, the H2S has the same tuner as your h2h so I have a spare h2s doing nothing and out of interest I set it up this morning and posted a pic of the music channels as set by ABM, here is the pic again and all these are free. Can you say what image you have on box?

And a pic showing how strong the signal was for those channels.

It must be my dish , the picture is from another TV connected to a sky box with now70/80 no signal, from same dish.

Signal strength don't look too bad, signal 2 not connected

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,769 ✭✭✭swoofer

Well you have me bamboozled now!! Have you 2 dishes? where is the signal on input 1 coming from?? take your time and I still don't know the image you are using on the H2H box, go menu, information, about, image name will be in big print.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,491 ✭✭✭SCOOP 64

One dish running a sky box and zgemma.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,769 ✭✭✭swoofer

That is a fairly recent image but was superceded. Now bear with me here, you have one dish that may have a quad outputs ie 4 cables so you have 2 cables to sky box and one cable to the h2h as I think its a combo ie has SAORVIEW as well.

So on input 1 in the pic it shows a signal but nothing on input 2 and it has a cable connected to input 2!!! Then if that is the case its the LNB and not the dish.

Im watching footie so brain may be askew but you have me foxed 🙃

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,491 ✭✭✭SCOOP 64

Zgemma has one sat cable one aerial lead input.

Sky box has just one cable in input one nothing in input 2 hence no signal.

    But both off same dish.

But signal looks good on sky box as per picture but no signal on now 70/ 80, could try moving dish a little while keeping a eye on now 70 to see if it kicks in.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,769 ✭✭✭swoofer

Swop the input on the sky one to the zgemma and is it a twin lnb ie 2 outputs and I take it the sky box is set up to take one feed. You should get a signal on the Zgemma and then you know its the LNB not the dish, don't touch dish. Can you reach dish easy? Look at input 1, that is a good signal so dish ok.

Once you prove its lnb then you should get a quad lnb and make better use of the sky box.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,491 ✭✭✭SCOOP 64

    LNB has a 4 output.

Zgemma box has only one sat input.

The LNB was replaced a month ago, the dish is easy to get too so can swap connections.

Sky box has one feed in it.

Don't understand with a good signal how I can't get picture on Now70/80 on the sky box., the sky box is non subscription, is the second connection mainly for recording so can't record on it anyway.

Hmmm the fact it does not work in the sky box puts another issue but as you are getting pictures on other channels then swopping the leads wont make any difference. Its now pointing to the dish or lnb needs tweaking. you may have got the wrong LNB BUT as its only one frequency for now it could be channel interference, like a wireless dect phone can block signal on some frequencies. Cables coming down a cavity and near electrical wires can also interfere.

Did you fit the lnb yourself and where did you buy it?

when you go to signal finder in sky box it uses a working signal ie it wont be the signal for 11082h!!

Fitted myself, maybe I could try moving the dish a little I can see tv through window with sky box while I do this and leave it on Now 70 and see if it kicks in.

Thats the correct LNB. Did you use the bracket it came with and do you know about SKEW , I dont know if it comes with skew alkready done but for sky when you stand in front of dish LNB will look twisted to the left and thats skew. But as you say best way put sky on now 70's turn up volume, open window and move dish either left or right but you have to pause at each step and wait for signal to hit box. The lnb arm can drop as well so tip that up.

You are nearly there, weather not nice today.

If I get the right weather will give it ago over weekend, will let you know.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,491 ✭✭✭SCOOP 64

    Signal on Now 70, nothing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,769 ✭✭✭swoofer

the best way is to select the channel that sky signal gizmo is no good, you need to get sound and picture.

with the Zgemma h2h you could use signal finder and that would show when you had a signal. is there anything near you that could cause interference on that frequency? electric overhead wires

    where are you located roughly.

I just checked that channel and its 13 db even in rain.

    Tomorrow is better weather.

I dont know how expert you are but if you change the skin on the zgemma h2h to the metrix hd one it gives a better read out of signal when you press OK.

At one time I did have Now 70/80, but I'm hoping the dish has slightly moved with bad weather we have been having, nothing changed in line of view. We are out in the country, must admit the dish itself has seen better days.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,769 ✭✭✭swoofer

With an old sky dish what can happen is that the support bracket can tilt down and that can cause grief but its hardly noticeable, hence me saying tip up the arm. Also focal length has to be correct and that is the distance from the front of the lnb to dish face, then the elevation of the dish its about 21/22 in ireland. and you have the skew. Finally you have to make sure when you make the cable that no outer braid is touching the inner core and that the inner core is the correct length. Get all that right and your good to go.😉

If you are changing dish get a triax 68cm.
