From Met Eireann.... Next Weekend: Continuing generally unsettled with low pressure dominating

    In a word "shite"

I suspect its a little too early for any accuracy due to current changeable atlantic conditions. Probably Wednesday or Thursday before a more accurate forecast.

A lot of golfers watching too as many clubs start their season properly next weekend. If its dry from 12.20 - 4.30 pm I'll be happy, but I suspect I'll need my raingear

A mobile Atlantic flow with rain or showers every day for the foreseeable so prob 10 to 12c and 7mm of rain would be a decent guess.

Currently it's looking promising. Improvement on yesterday's forecast.

Some showers still expected, but circa 12-13 degrees and some sunny breaks

Could be 15c or 16c in Pheonix Park. Even 17c somewhere like Oak Park. Likely 12c or 13c in more Western areas.

Remember a couple of years ago my weather station had 3 to 4c on it for most of Paddys Day. This year 10c warmer but not record. I remember a Paddys Day in the 90s being 18c I think.

    1990 hit 17c at least.

1999 was mild to warm too. 18c plus.

Posted this a few years back but reminder of the St Patrick's Day records and yes the absolute max temps for 1990 and 1999 were:

    17 Mar 1990 18.7C Glasnevin, Dublin

    17 Mar 1999 18.5C Athy, Kildare

I was living in Dublin in March 1999 and I remember on Patrick's day drinking tinnies in Stephen's Green in shorts and t-shirt before going to a house in Ranelagh to continue drinking and to watch United v Inter in the CL QF. Happy, carefree (and classy!) days....

…. followed a month later by a very decent snowfall in the almost snowless 1990s!

I think it wouldn’t be bad idea to put a few € on a white Easter this year.

I lived in Rathfarnham and a grand bit of snow on the morning of 16 April 1999.

A decent enough summer. Lovely 2 week spell in July.

Ya due to the kinked nature of the jet in climate changing times the week after paddys day hints at 20c on one or two days but then 5c as we enter the last week.

    Typical Ireland.

There are years where we got 19c in March and nothing great all Summer so I wouldn't get too excited but surely 30c on occasion in the Summer is getting more normal.

Funny that Knock is the Sunniest place on SAINT Patrick's Day. Holy moly.
