Bought a bare root rose from Lidl. There's some greeny plasticity substance around the branches, I assume this is meant to stay on or am I meant to peel off?

Never seen that before but its probably some sort of wax. In the absence of instructions to the contrary I would assume it will flake off as the rose grows.

Its there to stop the stems from drying out. Just leave it and the buds will grow through it.

Wake me up when it's all over.
