When land is being divided between family members and all parties have agreed to the divisions, is a map showing divisions and signed by both parties legally binding? Or could this cause issues down the line?

    Is this homework?

Probably not, certainly not by itself.

A contract for land needs to specify the parties, the date, the price and needs some other particulars.

For an inheritance-type situation, there needs to be independent witnesses. It probably also needs to state it is a will and have certain other details.

The proper transfer of land needs solicitors advising each party.

    Laywer.

    Lawyer, lawyer, lawyer.

Instruments dealing with interests in land have to be drawn up by a lawyer, end of. No ifs, no buts.
