Do Japanese imports have different ignition barrels?

    Hello, a couple of young fellas tried to steal my car but luckily got stopped before they drove off. They took out the ignition barrel. I was wondering if anyone would know if all Japanese imports have different ignition barrels. The car is a 2000 Nissan March. Is it hard to find an ignition barrel for a Japanese import? Would really appreciate any information or help. Really want to fix my car. Thanks.

    Its cheaper to replace the ignition barrel with a push button start. The push button also acts as an immobiliser so the car can’t be stolen
