2 Port Motorized Valve

    Hi,

I've got a Hortsmann F222 valve in place for heating upstairs. Normally when you adjust the thermostat you can hear the valve kicking into action. This no longer happens but as quick fix using the manual override will open the valve and get heat so at least it is not seized.

Would it be the motor itself or the thermostat do you think? Is it possible to change out just the motor to avoid having to remove the whole unit and any issues that might lead me into.

    Thanks in advance.

First check the wiring, stat etc. in case there's a loose connection somewhere.

If all seem OK chances are the motor is goosed. It's possible to change motor without removing the whole unit but you may have to buy the whole unit. When disconnecting the old motor pay particular attention to wiring sequence - (there should be a total of 5 wires) to ensure that your rewire new motor correctly.
