confused a bit I see there are a few different types generally..

+ full table type lifting bike up to decent waist height, big and bigger money

+ small scissors types (footpumped or screw/jack style) some of them look too cheap to be trustworthy

was hoping to keep it under €500

don't see many secondhand around usual places but would consider it

(there's a part of me also wondering I could DIY my own in a little metalwork project too)

    happy to hear suggestions

yeah that's exactly what I'm after

not seen many come up 2nd hand unfortunately so think what I'll do is hold off another few months, build a kitty and buy the one I really want

I fabricated my own, it doesn't work out much cheaper, but is a lot more sturdy than a lot of the cheaper ones

    ooh that's interesting alrite!!!

did you have one already to reference off (copy) or a set of drawings to do that tho? or was it 100% diy/trial/error completely out of your own head? either way I'd be interested in knowing more...

I think I paid €830 for this a few years back.

It's a bit bigger than the usual ones and hooked up to air compressor for lifting

I got one from Cotters in 2017 for €500-ish, but I don't think they're still doing them. Superficially, it's pretty much the same as the ebay/amazon cheapy ones, but it seems better made and the front wheel clamp is much better. My only regret is not paying for the air/oil lifter, but hey-ho.

yeah, there's always demand for used ones, so they'r never cheap-cheap. The gap to a new one is small.

And here I am now getting a car lift as well………….. doh !
