Hi all,

Can anyone explain the layout of this weight plate so I know my towing capacity.

Vehicle is rated 3000kg.

That's not the trailer plate - it's the spec plate for the coupling only.

Plate looks like the max allowable mass is 3500 kg with the max allowable on an individual axle 1800 kg and unladen weight of 150 kg. That sounds strange though as a triple axle trailer capable of having a MAM of 3500 kg would surely be much heavier than 150 kg unladen?

So according to the plate I could load it with approx 3350kg if the vehicle has a towing capacity of 3500kg?

I'd say it definitely weighs more than 150kg, might bring it to a scales to be sure.

Is it a triple axle flatbed or plant trailer or car transporter? I just had a look on the Ifor Williams website and saw a triple axle flatbed with an unladen weight of 1150 kg and a MAM of 3500 kg. That makes sense. 150 kg unladen weight for a similar trailer from another manufacturer makes no sense. I wouldn't load it up with 3350 kg of cargo until this is clarified.

Perhaps the 150 kg is not an unladen weight at all but rather the max weight on the trailer's nosewheel?

It's a triple axle cattle trailer.

Aerlite, Jim Murphy in Tuam, must have missed a digit.

I'll weigh it myself to be sure.
