Hi, I'm going to try and build some raised planter beds in my back garden with reclaimed red brick. The plan is to have them varying heights from 45cm up to 70cm. At the moment the surface is levelled compacted aggregate. My query is can I build the walls from the surface of the compacted aggregate? Or do I need to dig down until I hit soil level to lay the mortar for the first course?
