Getting a second opinion through insurance

I apologise if this isn't the right place to post this. Mods please move if neccessary.

I have ongoing symptoms that I have brought up with my GP a number of times. I have asked to be referred to a specialist in this area, and she has refused. She has run blood tests, and they have been normal, so that is the end of it. There is no other local GP taking on new patients, I have checked.

I do have health insurance though, and as part of that I have access to a virtual GP appointment. Would they be able to give a second opinion, or are they likely to not want to get involved when they hear my own GP isn't concerned? And if they did see a need to go further, would my own GP be kept in the loop? I am worried about possible backlash. These symptoms are having a massive effect on my day to day life, and I can't believe in this day and age I just have to put up with it.
