The wiring set up in the attached pic isn't working. .What am I doing wrong here?

Want to put in a simple single switch in the shed to turn on/off the light

Have also attached the instructions that came with the switch

You do not wire up neutrals to the switch. Sure if you look at the diagram in the second pic it shows you how to wire it correctly.

Com - live wire direct from consumer unit via max 10 Amp MCB

L1 - switch wire to light.

L2 - 2 way switch but I suspect you just have the one switch so leave blank.

Neutral should run straight through to light fitting in this type of setup.

This is basic electrics. If you are unsure get a professional as you could do a lot of harm

Neutral should run straight through to light fitting in this type of setup.

OP just join the two neutrals in a connector and leave loose in the box. Kind of like the earths but it will be loose.

Brown from the fuse board to the COM terminal, the brown going to the light in the L1 terminal. Neutral in and out joined in a connector block.

Your MCB/fuse is going to blow the way you have it wired in your pic.
