Just heard today Lyons lost Volvo agency , anyone know what happened ?

Lyons were ahead of the game over 10 years ago building standalone showrooms but it did seem strange that they never brought showrooms up to latest Volvo design .

Volvo sales very good this last 12 months or do even though dealer network is not great compared to the German brands

They will be taking on BYD as a brand which is likely going to be, over time, a better seller than Volvo. It is cheaper, they are Electric and they offer Saloons which Volvo don't anymore unless you go for a Polestar which is an expensive offering from Volvo also which we don't have as an offering locally anyway.

What is the latest Volvo design ? Is the byd going into that slot there so , i did think the volvo section was a bit add on looking to the rest of the dealership but wasnt the worst by far. So is volvo gone from limerick now or is there someone else taking it over ?

no the showrooms were not the latest design that came in a few years back , it was a strange set up alright .

latest design is a strange glazed look , where you cant see fully into showroom from outside .

Connollys took over Volvo in Galway , maybe limerick too ?

Lyons Jaguar / land rover showroom is in a stupid location , tucked away in a corner and no proper forecourt / vehicle display area

yeah I thought the same on the jag /lr showroom , but at least benefits from being in their main entrance way. The lack of a defined designated Jag/LR space is a strange setup alright, I dropped a mate in to collect his car recently from service and had no idea where to go with him in there !

they have an impressive stock but its just cars dumped all over place - no order .

suppose JLR were just glad to have Lyons as a dealer and didnt insist on premises being better .

JLR dealers are probably the most impressive / upmarket dealerships in this country ( we have no exotic brands ) but Lyons dealership is a weak link
