    Hi all,

    I'm retiring this year at 66 but I'm wondering if anyone knows if I'm still allowed to do subbing.

    I can't see why not. Theoretically you would be subject to Pension Abatement but this is unlikely to be a factor unless you are subbing at or near full time.

    Abatement means that you cannot earn more (gross) from your combined retirement pay and pension than the pay scale point of your last position before before retirement. And (again afaik) subs are paid at the entry point of the pay scale.

    Just to add - any State Pension you get doesn't count towards abatement. Only the job pension.
