Stage 2 looks great, Ballaghasheen pass is tough, looks like a nice viewing point so might book the day off and check it out.

Any finer details on the routes yet and the finishing circuit?

Stage 5 graphic shows Cromwell's Bush between Gormanston and Julianstown instead of Ashbourne and Stamullen!

Looking forward to it - it's great that the start / finish is not confined to the same town every year.

Not great at garmin stuff but basically coming out of Birr you go through Riverstown then ignore the right turn for Borrisokane and continue straight onto the old Nenagh Road and this leads directly onto the climb.going in the direction of Cloughjordan.

Stage 4 finishes in Kildare town, which is just over the road from me.

I'm planning on heading across, maybe have a pint or two watching the finish.

Never been before though, anyone any idea if there'll be much craic happening?

There are some plans for some family type stuff in the Square, not quite sure yet how much will come of it.

The stage itself won't be finishing in the Square but down near the Parish church on the road in from the Japanese Gardens. Saturday afternoon in Kildare town is quite busy and while i wasn't involved in any discussions with the Guards personally I understand traffic management issues meant the stage couldn't come in the old main road from Monasterevin.

It'll actually be only a short walk to the stage finish from Kildare Village if anyone wants to bring the family down and pop out for a look.

They'll come in the Kildangan road, turn right over Silliot hill, straight through Newtown cross and swing left at the National Stud back over the motorway to the finish. Yes Tully road/Bride St.

Yes.After talks with local garda it was decided this was the best option. Tesco entrance and bus stop etc in main street on a Saturday afternoon made it unworkable really. New finish is good and a nice run in too over the last 10k or so.

Had an absolute nightmare start - was up all last night getting sick. Genuinely didn’t think I’d make the start at one point.

Today was actually grand for the most part. Fast but easy in relative terms. Then it absolutely exploded in the last 30k.

Happy I was able to make it though and I can’t feel any worse than I did today. Tomorrow is going to be a savage stage though

Why are the GC times different to the stage times?

Kennedy finished 2s behind on the stage but is only 1s down on overall and winning stage times is 3h09m25s but GC time is 3h09m12s ?

There were 3 intermediate sprints on the stage that awarded bonus seconds. The bonus seconds won come off the GC time but not the stage time leading to the differences.
