On this week's 'View from Stormont' programme on UTV, Labour's Northern Ireland spokesperson Hilary Benn told Paul Clark that, if it wins the UK general election, Labour would replace the Troubles Legacy Act with a law that is consistent with the Stormont House Agreement (SHA) of 2014.

But the SHA did not have the support of all of the main victim-support groups and main NI political parties and so it never took effect.

So why does Labour think that the SHA would work?

At least the current British government has a method to the madness of its Troubles legacy policy because the Legacy Act is to Troubles victims in NI what the Leaving Cert is to students in the Republic - instead of favouring one group of people of another it's fair by being unfair to everyone.

PS: This week's edition of the programme will be available in audio form as an episode of the UTV Podcast, which is available on the UTV section of the ITV News website.
