Box for free-to-air channels

Hi All,

This may be answered before but I've found since that last Boards.ie upgrade I can't get the search to work properly. Gives results from every forum except the one I'm searching for.

I've a sat dish & an old Sky box which is still working but BBC & some ITV are gone to HD. Need to change the box & looking for recommendations just to receive the free-to-air channels. Also need a nice interface for some non-techies in the house (maybe similar to Sky). My buddy has a Ferguson Ariva 252 combo & swears by it. Looking for opinions or options.

If the TV has a satellite tuner, plug the cable from dish into it and see what channels you can get. If the people in the house can figure out how to use the remote for the TV, you might not need a separate box.

Could you just buy a cheap sky hd box and just plug it in, that's what i have still got bbc itv but in HD,

This is a great wee box, size of a mobile phone! Amazon have them if Freetv haven’t!
