I have a smart meter, and it's inside my porch beside my front door. I'm looking to replace my front door and potentially get rid of the sliding door and move it out the front.
Traditionally there was external access needed to the meter for readings etc.. but now that it's a smart meter is there still a requirement for this to be maintained? I would ultimately have the meter inside the hallway covered in some sort of box and remove the notion of the box needed at the front door to check the meter.
