You raise an excellent point about how modern dating culture can often lack meaning and emotional connection. I think many people these days feel a general sense of disappointment and numbness from going through the motions of casual sex and short-lived relationships. It's so easy now to find instant gratification online, but still be left with a lingering emptiness.

However, I don't believe this means real intimacy and love are extinct! The novelty of endless swiping does tend to wear off. In response, folks may rediscover the value of nurturing authentic compatibility, communication and trust with a partner. It's still out there, even if it requires more patience and vulnerability. We shouldn't accept nihilism as the new norm. As social creatures, most of us crave bonds deeper than fleeting pleasure. There are still meaningful connections to be made for those who seek substance over convenience. But we have to be courageous enough to be get uncomfortable sometimes. It's a process, but worth it!
