I have some high density insulation profiles to stick to block work as a frame for windows.

What is the best way to clean block work so the adhesive grips the best.

I have used a scraper to flatten mortar joints and a damp brush to clean, but am not totally happy with this.

Is there a cleaning spray or something that could be used?
