Have 2 dogs, both collies. Would work a little bit on the farm. One is 13 years old. One is 6 years old. In the last couple of months, the 6 year old seems to have gotten far more aggressive towards the older dog. Before that, they would have played a lot together etc. But that seems to have stopped suddenly & it seems to be the 6 year old that has stopped playing with the 13 year old. He will also growl at the older dog sometimes. I can't figure out what has changed him or how to get back to his old self. Just wondering if anyone has any experience of this type of behaviour from their dog before and if they were able to do something about it?

Sounds like he could be in pain. We had a miniature schnauzer that had an underlying issue causing her pain and you couldn't even pick her up. Unfortunately in her case, she had an undiagnosed shunt in her liver despite numerous trips to the vet so she had to be put down.

Go to the vet and get their bloods done and a full check-up
