What building regulation covers stepped DPC over a flat roof? (see picture)

    Below is a picture from an old Homebond book on the correct location of a stepped DPC over a flat roof.

    I would like to find the exact Irish building regulation which covers this detail so that i can cite the regulation in a paper. Does anyone now what the building regulation reference is?

    TGD C “Site Resistance to Moisture” maybe?

    The guidance documents won’t cover all possibilities so it’s up to the designer to create a design that meets the core requirements of the regulations.

    As above, the "technical guidance documents" (TGDs) are not the "building regulations". Then are only offer a prima facia way of complying.

    You will not find anything as prescriptive in the building regulations which state "flashing much be used over flat roofs"


    For example the actually building regulation to cover this states:

    "The floors, walls and roof of a building shall be so designed and constructed as to prevent the passage of moisture to the inside of the building or damage to the fabric of the building"

    How the designer/builder completed with this is up to them, but they must comply.
