    Hi all

I would like some advice on how to go about preparing our new lawn.

We have the house, garage, yard layout done. Moved in about 2mths.

The site is just under an acre and has a slight fall and a few wet spots with rushes. I'm planning on putting drainage pipe on either side and lower ditch and cover with drainage stone. We have young kids worried they might end up in the drain.

    Q. Am I best dig of top soil and put down a thin layer of broken stone all over lawn and put back top soil and reseed it

    Or

Put in French drains from wet spots and cover with pile of top soil dug out from raft foundation.

Also what type of grass seed would one recommend?
