Rental income while receiving Invalidity Pension

Hi all,

I've recently applied for invalidity pension.I've sold my place in Ireland and bought a little place in the Canaries.The climate really helps with my autoimmune condition.

My place has a basement which I could rent out. I suppose I've a few questions really. If I rent the basement, how will this affect my pension(if granted) and if I'm on the pension will I be allowed to live in the Canaries. I would apply for residency there if it didn't affect my pension.

I would be checking out how the rental system works there first.

I had a place in Spain for 14 years and after the crash they made renting a mugs game especially for expats.

I would not recommend renting under the radar down there.

At 66, you transfer automatically to the State Pension (Contributory) at the full rate.

so my guess is that the IP is not means tested as the SP(C) is not

yea I've no interest in renting for cash etc, I want it all above board and legit. From their site it looks like the rental income would be added to the pension and taxed accordingly
