    Hello,

    Does anyone have experience or advice on jap import 2017 Toyota Auris 1.2 turbo auto ?

    They sold that engine here too, but the 1.33 non turbo was cheaper, it was a very short lived engine.

    Nothing chronic, but it supposedly has a few issues like carbon build up, leaking water pumps, oil consumption. These are all anecdotal, most people here won’t have first hand experience of them either.

    same engine was fitted to the CH-R too.


    Even though this is still a Toyota, I’d steer clear of it given that parts won’t be that easy to find used, and a hybrid model will just do everything better. You’re talking a turbocharged car with direct injection, there’s a lot to go wrong, and it’s not like a common engine where there’s loads of knowledge and aftermarket support locally. Not saying it’s a bad engine, just better to get a hybrid.
