Ballygunner castle

Went to take a look at this today, but disappointed to see it behind a locked gate with 'Beware of Bull' sign...any idea who owns this land and has it ever been publicly accessible?

It is the lane up to a private farm. The castle is a kind of 15th or 16th century fortified house owned by the Phelan family I think.

Tried to visit a few more local historical sites today - there is a sign marking the Knockeen Dolmen's location but it is behind a gate and an electric fence. Ballynageeragh portal tomb is also behind a gate and electric fence and Ballymoat mehnir looks to be on someone's property . The church and graveyard at Kill st. Lawrence is behind a locked gate. Anyone know if I have the right to visit any of these?

We went there today too thanks, amazing place! Such a nice location and great how the land owners have allowed access.

Turn left for Tramore from the Cork Road past Butlerstown. Its the third turn right after that, through a cross roads and its on the left. Check Google maps
