But it’s used for connections e,g

DUB to UVF via LGW is €950

    LGW to UVF is €960

with Ryanair. You now need to book a flight, pay for 32kg allowance , fly the night before as the flight to UVF is at 10:00 and you can no longer to a 45 minute transfer.

so it’s about a. Extra €600 and you no longer have EU261 protection or any protection for missed connections

Alternatively just head up to Belfast on the train (UVF).

A shame, I really like Gatwick airport it’s my favourite of the London ones…. security, shopping, getting food and getting to your gate have all always been a breeze as is the Gatwick Express and other transport links into London…seem to employ really good staff too compared to some of the STN mob, especially security screening. Always a more relaxed, composed, professional, easygoing and organised experience everywhere in Gatwick airport , ahhh well.

Wonder what EI will do with those aircraft and crews…. ? Seems like at a glance an average of about 4 / 5 flights just DUB - LGW daily so..

It’s a lot of London capacity to lose, roughly just between 700 - 800 seats give or take daily….

wonder how EI will utilise those aircraft and crews or whereabouts they’ll go ? They’ve confirmed no staff loses so…. Presumably there is work lined up for them

    Gotta love Ryanair's response:

"Ryanair yet again saves the day following Aer Lingus' sudden and surprise closure of its Dublin - Gatwick route from April," Ryanair's head of communications Jade Kirwan said in the statement. "We will be happy to welcome the few Aer Lingus passengers on the Gatwick route."
