    Can anyone tell me what this medal is for , and maybe some history , silver hallmark but no engraved lettering , thank you .

    Might be good to put up a photo of the other side also, along with detail of the hallmarks if you can get them

    It was hallmarked at the Birmingham assay office (indicated by the anchor) in 1905. The third element of the hallmark is the letter 'f' which is a 'date letter' and gives the year it was hallmarked, see the table of letters for Birmingham at the link below. The lion in the centre indicates sterling silver.

    It was made by Daniel George Collins.


    Beyond that, I cannot help you. The silversmith who made it and the ribbon suggests it's a British military medal but it's too early to have been awarded for service in WWI.
