Motorised Valve Issue?

I have a gas boiler with a two zone (hot water/heating) setup.

Hot water from the cylinder is only possible if the heating is also on. (And if you just turn on the heating alone it seems to be heating the water in the cylinder also.)

Suspect that one of the motorised valves isn't working properly. But how can I determine which one is the problem? I have two Myson brand actuators and the red indicator light works on both. Both are set to Auto.

Is one of my valves stuck in the wrong position due to a motor failure? If so is it the one for the hot water cylinder or the one for the heating that needs investigation?
